Dear God, please make it stop. I'd love to have at least one full year free of presidential politics. With all the Democrats and Republicans jumping their respective ships, you'd think that people would realize that politics in America are broken, parties don't matter, and journalists are less professional than podcasters.

Yes, I'm tired of all the politics but I think we're going to have a change in the later part of 2024 because the dirt on the bidens is piling up and don't I wouldn't be surprised that president obama, president biden, president Trump and much of the primary staff involved on the Biden and Obama side trying to sabotage Trump will eventually face prison time now that social media is no longer hijacked by the FBI and the Democrats.

Journalists are now nothing more than prostitutes in the United States of America.

Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen SFC John D. You mean something like the President not acknowledging he has a seventh grandchild?

Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen - Jack, I'd actually agree with your comments if they weren't one-directional. I expect that uni-directional thinking from Charlie, but you do strike me as a more open-minded individual. I know you lean left, but you usually strike me more of a moderate rather than the vitrol spewing of a partisan zealot.
I think CPT Jack Durish's comments are right on the nose that the parties are broken. Politics today has become a game of "MY party can do no wrong and YOUR party is only wrong" and the political cycle is rinse and repeat of a system that is 90% offense and 10% defense. The more garbage I can drop on you, the less I have to worry about my own stuff.
Did Trump do wrong? Absolutely, but I would only say that if I were talking to someone that is reasonable. There are some on here who's sole meaning in life seems to be posting a meme or MTN video about how bad Trump is without ever considering that it might remotely be possible that some good was done with his policies.
Why? Because talking with a zealot is a waste of time. However, for the likes of the far-left Democrat zealots who are never interested in a conversation and only about spewing their hate for anyone that dares to believe in personal responsibility and holding people accountable for their actions.

SFC John D. Oh, I am one of the first to shout when my party does something wrong. I watched my party try to appease the left in my state. In five budget deals (Oregon's legislature used to meet every two years and yes republicans had the majority for most of the 1990's into about 2002)), they doubled the state budget. A hearty FU to the tax payersthat still stings. And I let them know about it. My phone calls stopped being returned, letters and emails went unanswered. My townhall questions at open mic's were given non-answers. You know, the things dems do now.
Prior to the Supreme Court decision on abortion, when it was brought up in political circles, I said we needed to stop talking about it. I was once asked to be a candidate for a state representative seat by my party. When they asked my views on it, I said it's not on my radar as it's the law of the land and we should stop trying to enact laws to change it. I finished my chat and never heard back from the people who wanted me to run.
As for this writer, he works for 'The Bulwark'. Wasn't its publisher Bill Kristol hated by the left when he was at The Weekly Standard'? But he went anti-Trump so his emag (which I didn't know was still published) and he were welcomed back into the democrats good graces. So is really a loss any way?

What do you think our "Founding Fathers" would have to say concerning politics today?

SFC John D. - John, I was trying to find the quote of Alexis de Tocqueville where he says, in essence, if America is destroyed, America will be destroyed from within. I couldn't find the source. However, I ran across a link to this Time magazine article: https://time.com/6269091/individualism-ahead-of-the-common-good-for-too-long/
We Have Put Individualism Ahead of the Common Good for Too Long
In America today, far too many of us are disconnected from each other, lonely, self-protective, or at each other's throats.
