Police shut down major Wichita road after finding suspicious device near abortion provider

Police say the device was found in the same area as the Trust Women clinic, which provides abortions and other care.
A major portion of Kellogg remains closed Wednesday as Wichita Police continue to investigate a suspicious device found at the Trust Women clinic near Oliver.

Police shut down Kellogg just before 8 a.m. It continues to be closed in both directions from Woodlawn to Oliver.

Zach Gingrich-Gaylord, a spokesman from the clinic, said security there called police after discovering a suspicious package outside the clinic during a routine sweep of the area.

"Our standard protocol is call the police and have them investigate it," Gingrich-Gaylord said.
