Whenever someone uses a credit card to buy a scoop of mango ice cream at one of Victor Garcia's shops in Texas, the financial system takes a bite.
Credit card fees gobbled up more than $25,000 of Garcia's sales last year. He's now posted signs at his two shops near Fort Worth urging customers to think twice before paying with plastic.
"Most are shocked," Garcia says. "Half of them say, 'Gosh, I have no cash. I wish I did.' People don't know. They just say, 'Hey, I get points, so I'm going to use my card.'"

Some of the cards have pretty high fees...maybe the store owners should discount for cash. Some of our local gas stations do that.

Excellent post. Thank You for sharing this shipmate. This is going to be a little difficult. Being that a lot of folks don't carry cash with them anymore. They either use debit or credit cards. Or pay on an app.

Diane and I went to a place in Plymouth, WI called Chester's. It used to be an A&W and the root beer tastes exactly like it still is. They have a sign hanging on both sides of the menu that says they only accept cash or checks
