I'm not a fan of either. The .380 is too small a frame for my hand, and the 9mm, well, it's not a fave due to personal preference. I'll take a nice .40 S & W though for CC.

A very timely article. I am in the process of getting him and her conceal carry for my wife and I. My wife has small hands. I like the 9mm but I am concerned for my wife. May need to go with .380.

The PT 59 is a full-sized pistol with a DA/SA trigger. It is manufactured by Taurus. This pistol is chambered in 380 ACP. This would be for you.
The Taurus PT 738 TCP in 380 would be for you wife's small hands.

Their not the same 380 ACP we're design for concealment over a 9mm that has be used in service to replace the 45 CC ACP. As 9mm have made smaller to conceal carry, but ballistic speak the 9mm is closer to the 45 ACM and this is why the military went with the 9mm not the 380 ACP

No they aren't the same thing but really too close to make a distinction in my mind for the close up work, that is their main purpose, in a pocket pistol. The 9mm has 2mm more of case length which will give it a slightly larger powder charge, a few grains at most. As I said in my main commentary .380ACP doesn't end with "mm".
