Former Kansas City Police detective Eric DeValkenaere asked to be released from jail while he appeals his manslaughter conviction in the 2021 fatal shooting of Cameron Lamb. DeValkenaere was transferred to prison Wednesday.
Former Kansas City Police detective Eric DeValkenaere will remain in prison while he appeals his manslaughter conviction for the killing of 26-year-old Cameron Lamb in 2019.
Attorneys for DeValkenaere requested he be released on bond while he appealed his case to the Missouri Supreme Court. In a one-page ruling Thursday, the Missouri Court of Appeals denied his request to continue his bond.

The article doesn't give much on the backstory, what were the circumstances other than him sitting in his truck in his driveway? How much of a threat was he in that situation? Where was the cop standing and was the vehicle in gear, was he producing a firearm or other weapon? Also, did he wave a jury trial? Too much I don't know to have an opinion but I do know most anyone else would be sitting in prison if in his shoes. Kind of busy today but am making a note to look for more info on this to satisfy my curiosity lol

PO1 William "Chip" Nagel - I looked into it over lunch and if this timeline is accurate, you all know I don't trust the media lol, then this guy is right where he belongs and he should have some company, in my opinion based on this alone.
