The Summation:"Gender dysphoric youth deserve a comprehensive and clinically judicious textbook from the country’s premiere psychiatric association, not a volume that omits essential facts and perspectives in the service of a political agenda."
The Psychiatrist/Author touches on many aspects Of Gender Affirming medicine in this article. I feel like this quote is important to the whole;
"Many studies of young children with gender dysphoria reveal that a significant number no longer express gender dysphoria when tracked into adolescence or adulthood."
It means; Given a chance to grow into their bodies, a large number will change their minds.
Not mentioned in the piece is that once those organs are removed the patient will never get to experience the real Joy that intimate relationships bring.

I agree. There are many people who transitioned as young teens and now live a life of regret. A lot of this is socially driven.

Sorry but people do not transition in their teens. They may as part of their treatment plan begin to socially transition. At some point their primary care and mental health provideers along with parents will make a decision on puberty blockers. There are standards set out for minors and adults. Minors not only have primary care support but support from specialists such as Psychologists, Psychiatrists , Endocrinologists, Social Workers and other specialists as needed during treatment. This is how the process works for minors.
