The bar's staff called police, and Cruz was arrested. An officer found a knife in Cruz's jacket pocket, according to police.

While the woman was out drinking at a bar full of random people, a drunk man who was not attending the conference tried to hit on her. Another man who she knew and who was attending the conference stepped in to tell the drunk to leave her alone. The drunk reacted belligerently (as drunks often do). The bartender called the police and the drunk was arrested.
But somehow this is the fault of the conference and the industry.
