"They're really calling the Baltimore Mayor a DEI Mayor," one X (formerly Twitter) user wrote with a laughing emoji. "Just say slurs at that point bro."
Another mused: "They used to be Lyndon B. Johnson with the slurs straight to ya face. Now, they hide behind terms they don't even know."
As backlash against the backlash rose, many jokingly "reclaimed" the term DEI, as a stand-in for the less socially acceptable N-word.

NPR is the gold standard for the progressive-left with truth!
But as is typical, it falls apart when you apply a modicum of critical thinking.
"Phil Lyman, a Utah Republican and gubernatorial candidate, broadened his attack to include Maryland Gov. Wes Moore, who is also Black. Lyman wrote: "This is what happens when you have Governors who prioritize diversity over the well being and security of citizens."
"Ignoring that public officials are elected – not hired – and Scott won the 2020 mayor's race with a landslide 70 percent of the vote, the vitriol playing out in rightwing spaces highlighted growing tensions stemming from efforts to promote fair hiring and labor practices in workforces and higher education."
The NPR writer went off on a typical tactic with the progressive-left. Find some small kernel of truth (Mr. Lyman posted a tweet) and then pile on their opinion (this tweet was about the Mayor of Baltimore) that has no basis in reality.
But the progressive-left will mindlessly slurp down what their media and political masters tell them to believe because their attention span is measured in seconds and explaining that the message was about the Commissioner for the Port of Baltimore who IS appointed by the governor, not elected as the NPR writer claimed, would tax their mental capabilities.
She is LITERALLY a DEI hire (her previous job was the Founder and CEO of a consulting firm focused on DEI).

Is NPR insane. I haven’t heard anyone speak about a mayor in relationship to a bridge collapse. Except maybe for sone traffic control the mayor would be removed from it. I doubt the bridge is city owned. The only thing I’m heard the mayor referenced to is none of the schools testing at grade level or above. He has a lot of work to do on that. He should concentrate on thinks he can affect and is responsible for. MHO
