He said, She said on weather there was a gun raised that could be considered a threat, and prior social media posts strongly influenced the case in my opinion more than the shooting in the first place.

Whether a gun is "raised" is a very subjective matter that is often subject to disagreement even when completely recorded on video. Even when a gun OBVIOUSLY was never raised and presented no credible immediate threat, the mere presence of a gun is often sufficient -- so long as the shooter is a police officer (such as the Florida deputy who shot Sr Airman Roger Fortson)

In the Perry case, we had a not-at-all-likeable defendant charged in a case where the jury knew an acquittal would absolutely result in violence which might well be directed against jurors personally. Perry was convicted of not being a nice person because he said he didn't like violent BLM protestors -- an opinion that was shared by most white adults as well as many older blacks
