1. There is NO "true Trump." He cannot separate truth from his own created fiction.
2. Isolation, which is the end goal of this article, will never work in a world that has dictators interested only in expanding their own area of influence. Such expansion will only endanger other nations, including the US.

SFC Casey O'Mally - Let me ask you this; do you actually believe Putin would stop with Ukraine? He has already stated he wants to expand the Russian Federation to where it was as the USSR.

MSG Stan Hutchison I do not think he will encroach on a NATO member state.

So, if he finally takes down Ukraine and swallows them, I think there will be a period of quiet while he rebuilds. Then he will turn east to central Asia and start with the "-stans.". And he will probably get ONE of them before he dies.

Is that ideal? No. Am I overly concerned about it? Also no.

SFC Casey O'Mally - Let me get this straight; You think it is ok to allow a strong nation to invade and take over a weaker one?
Where does it stop?

MSG Stan Hutchison I never said it is OK. I don't think it is *our* problem.

We are NOT the world police.

Hit them with sanctions, sure. Create and apply diplomatic pressure, absolutely. Band together with our nations to make those sanctions really bite, you betcha. Invade the weak nation in the name of defending them? Not so much. Even if the weak nation invites us.

Where it stops is where they run up against a stronger nation, or a nation that is part of a stronger alliance. Or when the financial and diplomatic pressure becomes too much to bear.
