'Inspiring and eye-opening': Gen Z's interest in skilled trades is rising

This makes me Happy to see. I made the decision to go with Skilled Trades in 1978. I already had an apprenticeship under my belt when I enlisted in 1983. The apprenticeship allowed me to get a Tech MOS and start as a PFC in Basic. When the Med Board removed me from AD in 1993. I had a Job in less than 2 weeks of my ETS. The only time I wasn't working for more than a week was if I decided to take a break. I didn't have to play the temp job game. It was a temp agency that got me in the door, but I was a full time employee when I left on the first day. I always push the benefits of skilled trade work when I talk to young people. There are paid apprenticeships available everywhere, and Mechatronics or similar course work available at community colleges and tech schools. allow the youngsters the opportunity to make that an aspect of their future planning. I did it for 42 years and even still have all my fingers.
