This CA only, Middle School and High School. The authors of the article specifically mention Black and Latino youth. if you look at the chart there's a group in between them; Indigenous American youth. While they make up the smallest group of students(the Red Bar) The number of them(% wise) that claim gang affiliation is second on the chart. I have to wonder if it's tribal affiliation that they were actually claiming. The study was done 10 years ago, so there might have been a change in actual numbers by now, but I doubt they went down. I hate that these kids feel a need to associate with the gangs for a feeling of inclusion and safety. but, there's a of folks that are just A$$holes and don't ken to the fact we all bleed red.
