1. DCA= Defensive Counter Air which is a mission to orbit in a specific area to respond and counter air threats.
2. Button 17 means they are on a preprogramed radio channel 17 on their radio tuning unit which is tied to either a UHF or VHF frequency that probably was the radar controller to their ship.
