So who's going to defend this 'honorable' man when the files he and his staff failed to turn over the first time get to the Attorney General's office?
We're he still a Marine, he'd could be facing punishment under Article 90 and/or Article 92 of the UCMJ.

I've heard several versions so I base opinions on whatever I actually see.

"the head bad cop telling the other bad cops to keep doing the bad things."
Are these "bad things" something like refusing to give up personal information on agents who worked Jan 6 riot investigations?
Not sure what the intention here is, but if it's to determine if some of those cases were weak or baseless, then it would seem like a review of the cases would be a first step.
Then, if cases are proven to be outside the laws, regulations and policies that govern FBI investigations, THEN you have grounds to go after the agents involved in those.
Outside of presenting any of this proof up front, it kinda looks like the new administration just wants retribution against those agents involved in JAN 6 investigations, which kinda sounds like the bad thing, and a good head cop just wasn't down with that.

SGM Jeff Mccloud I don't trust the FBI in any way, shape, or form. I keep hearing about there are all these good agents and just a few bad ones. If there were records not turned over, where were the good agents telling the Director he didn't get all of them? Same thing with January 6th. The corrupted phone record data is a lie. Yet, not one 'good' agent has come forward.
"Cellular carriers have told Congress they possess intact phone usage data from the vicinity where two pipe bombs were planted during the Jan. 6 incident, directly disputing FBI testimony that agents couldn't identify a suspect because the phone data was corrupted, a key House chairman tells Just the News.
“Every major cell carrier responded and confirmed that they did not provide the FBI corrupted data,” Loudermilk said."

J6 Shocker: Phone companies dispute FBI testimony on pipe bombs suspect, key lawmaker reveals
The new revelations heighten the mystery—and scrutiny of the FBI—surrounding one of the most disturbing security failures on the day of the Capitol riot.

LTC Trent Klug - If I recall correctly, the FBI did not claim the data from one of the carriers was corrupted by the carrier, in testimony, they went out of their way to point out that no carrier corrupted the data provided.
But sure, if no good agent steps forward to confirm every crackpot conspiracy theory is true that must mean there are no good agents in the bureau.
That's even more solid than the conclusion that if a cop killed a black guy, then every cop must be racist.

SGM Jeff Mccloud I never said the phone carriers corrupted the data. The FBI said it.
From testimony given to Congress:
"In June 2023, the former Assistant Director in Charge of the FBI’s Washington Field Office, Steve D’Antuono, who oversaw the pipe bomb investigation, said that the FBI received corrupted data from one of the cell carriers and that it most likely contained the identity of the pipe bomber. Given the significance of this information, my Subcommittee sent letters to the three major cell carriers, asking them to respond to Mr. D’Antuono’s claim of corrupted data,” he said.
"Last year, D’Antuono told the House Judiciary Committee that the FBI did not a receive complete phone data from telephone carriers because some of it had been corrupted."
"We did a complete geofence. We have complete data. Not complete, because there’s some data that was corrupted by one of the providers, not purposely by them, right. It just — unusual circumstance that we have corrupt data from one of the providers,” D’Antuono testified in a transcribed interview."
What happens if, and when, the additional Epstein files show up? What will you say about the agents in that office knew they didn't give all of them to DOJ? Are they going to still be good agents?
There are good cops who stand by and do nothing while suspects and citizens standing nearby are assaulted, or worse. There are news stories every day about them.
