7.62x54r vs. 308 Winchester: Are Old Calibers Still Relevant?

The WHAT vs .308W? Ok, if you happen to own a rifle chambered 7.62x54r, more power to you. In Murica we hunt our whitetail with .308W. If you own a rifle chambered .308W you can even use 7.62 NATO. My gun uses 2 different bullets and doesn't bat an eyelash.
