This shouldn't even be a debate. it's the same as .380 vs .45, there's no comparison. Other than recoil the .45 wins everything else that matters.

Greatly prefer the 45ACP. Modern 9mm loads are no slouch, but it truly hard toargue with flying bowling balls.

I have nothing against the 9mm and I agree that modern ammo takes away some of my concerns about the caliber. I will point out that 45 ACP ammo development hasn't stood still either and there are a number of them that puts the old hard ball ammo to shame. I'm like you, putting a great big hole in something that is bothering you usually solves the problem without having to shoot 15 times. I would also make the same observation about a .357 revolver. You just don't have to shoot anything more than a couple of times to solve the problem, assuming you can hits something with it.

For most of the time I carry a Glock 43 (9 mm hollow points) with 9 round mags. I need concealment more than a larger round.
When I deer hunt, either with a bow or shotgun, I carry my Glock 30 (.45 full metal jacket) or my single action 357 mag, also full metal jacket). They are for Black Bears that don’t understand the rules. The 45 is in my chest bag, the 357 mag is in a belt holster.
I also carry a backup .38 snubby on occasion.
I look at my various firearms as tools. So far, I have never found one tool that does everything, same with firearms. Cheers

After Many Years Of Concealed Carry I Have Found This Works Best.
