That is the only downside of my P94DC. It has no safety, just the decocking lever. This is a nice add by Ruger. Anytime a manufacturer responds to customer complaints is a good thing.

I Have Been Carrying An LCP With Laser As My Summer Carry Gun For Many Years And Have Never Had A Problem, My Wife Carries A Sccy CPX That Does Not Have A Manuel Safety On It Either And Have Also Never Had Any Problems !
To Quote A Line From Black Hawk Down ! My Safety Is My Finger Off The Trigger !
If You Feel More Comfortable With A Manual Safety ? Than Buy That Handgun , Carry What You Feel Most Comfortable With.

I Have Two 1911s , One Is A Full Size Army Issued That I Got From CMP , That’s My Bedside Table Weapon, The Other One Is A Rock Island Officer’s Model Both Are 45 ACP , That’s My Cold Weather Carry Weapon But I Am Not Riding A Bike So I Feel Safe Carrying It Since I Was Well Trained On The 1911 Platform.
But In The 95 Degree Heat Of Summer When I Am Wearing Shorts I Carry My Ruger LCP In My Right Front Pocket, With One Extra Magazine In My Left Front Pocket.

SPC James Neidig - I keep a round chambered in my .45acp. It has a manual safety that I train to flip as I'm drawing it. Like you, now that it's warmer weather I also carry my LCP with an extra mag in my right front pocket.

I Was Marine Aircrew From 1979-1985 And The 1911 Was The Issued Sidearm .
So I Was Well Trained With It, Cocked And Looked Was How We Carried It And Disengaged The Safety When Drawing From Holster .
If You Are Going To Carry Any Handgun For Self Defense There Must Be A Round In The Chamber.
