All I an say is. He's probably not the only one that carries in restricted areas. If one person is allowed to carry, everyone should be.

Kind of a sticky situation. I've carried in some areas (like hospitals) that banned firearms.

A security breakdown led to this. I'll say this, if the police are armed inside the Capitol, then citizens should be able to be armed inside it as well. The police are under no duty to come to a citizen's rescue.

If I hadn't read it I wouldn't have believed it. I have family members who are in police forces everywhere., from city , state , and even a federal marshal. I'm a old Hillbilly and we have always handled our own problems. I also carry a counseled weapon myself, but I'm licensed.

I had to go to town this morning a right at the edge a young man had an AR slung over his right shoulder walking towards the city. I didn't think anything of it until I got to the top of the hill and wondered why he would do it during HoopFest, the street basketball tournament.

its ok for people to own and carry weapons, as long as you can do so legally. But there are people who should never have one.

There is always a time and place and just because you can does not mean you should. I bet if I went walking down the street with my suppressed, bolt-action .308 no one would bat an eye even though I am far more deadly at 400m with it than any AR. A suppressed .308 at 400m they probably could not tell where it was coming from. It is unfortunate that the general society has been made so scared of an AR-15 when it is by far not the most lethal weapon on the market.

MAJ Byron Oyler The thing is there is a small neighborhood where I saw this fellow and for all I know he was coming from one of those houses and headed to his own. There's any number of reasons and one can only speculate. Like maybe a neighbor is a gunsmith and the guy had some work done. At any rate there have been no incidents reported on the news.
