LCpl Mark Lefler
when I was in we weren't allowed to walk on grass.. so one day i was walking around the grass to get to Master Guns, he looks at me and says "lefler why are you walking around?" I said "I was told not to walk on the grass." he says "thats stupid, grass is for walking on." so the next say I walk across the grass to get to the 1st Sgt and she says "lefler why are you walking on the grass" all annoyed and I says "Master Guns said grass was for walking on" she stopped abruptly from admonishing me and started laughing.

I would've guessed by the 50+ stickers on your car, the Marine Corps custom plates on everything, your USMC tatto on your back, shoulder, biceps, forearms, and wife and kids, the required USMC pin, the hats, and your favorite colors are red and gold? 25 years after retirement, you're still pressing your Blues, and shining boots with Kiwi and anger. We're not even mentioning that you tell everyone you meet you're a Marine.....nah no one would ever know you were a Marine. How to tell I'm a Solder.....My 1ID sticker (just one) on my truck and these...

I have a POW/MIA sticker and a metal American Flag on my rear bumper. Then, I have this.

To this date, I still endure a little anxiety to walk on grass. Every time I start the mower, I have to tell myself, "It's OK." Thank you, SgtMaj Gros! Every now & then, I'll hear "check," "roger," "Good to Go," "Brain housing group," "Go-Fasters," "Green Silkies," "Ink Stick," etc... and know I just met a brother.
