Funniest part of the story, Sen Rick Scott (R-FL) worth hundreds of millions of dollars, is one of the wealthiest members of Congress. Minutes later, he said it was "disgusting" to criticize lawmakers for their wealth. "I don't know when in this country it became a negative to make money,"
If you recall, Scott got rich from Columbia/HCA, and while under investigation for fraud, Scott was "forced out" with a $9M settlement and $350M in stock while the company eventually settled the fraud federal and civil cases for over $2.6B, the largest fraud settlement in history up to that point.
And that's just one of the reasons we criticize lawmakers for their wealth.
