80plus years after his passing, he's still the greatest name in baseball. I wish he could have played with or against Josh Gibson on a regular basis.

Loved this, as Ruth was my Dad's favorite Player. Although Yogi Berra was my Dad's favorite Catcher. And I looked up what $125,000 dollars would be today. For just inflation it would be around 2 million, and for actual wealth and in relation to ordinary jobs, it would be around 12 million dollars. So even back then, Sports guys made insane salaries and purchases compared to the "working man."
I remember my Dad saying once that : "Ruth had more home runs than the entire rest of the Teams combined. And he moved us away from small ball."
