Douglas MacArthur's father Arthur got an MoH as a 2d Lt. that day. They later became the only father-son MoH holders. . . .

Excellent post. Living here have been to the battlefields. Chickamauga, lookout mtn (battle above the clouds), missionary ridge and orchard knob. National cemetery was established in 1867. But was created in December 1863. Monuments put up by states of those that fought there are on orchard knob. Cemetary is several blocks away. Thanks for the share MAJ Dale E. Wilson, Ph.D.
