I went to the library in town when that Cuban Missile Sir-rep was going on(I was 9 then) and went over and got the Jane’s books out
and the librarian said “these were adult books”... I’ll be right here in front of you at that table right there(pointing to it). Oh.. ok, I s’pose so... I found what I wanted and took them over to the copier and got what I wanted.. and put the books back.. “Where you going with those young man ?”
I distracted her.. Wow, look at what that kid over there is doing .. she looks and I’m outta there !.. got on my bike and headed for the house..
My mom said the librarian called.. (her and mom are good friends). Mom said she had to have those pics.. (thinking s’thing like this might happen I made two sets (costs me $2.. a nickle ea. .. a lot of pics ‘! She wants all of them !
I turned over half of them... next day I took the rest to school.. Teacher let me use them.. We posted them on the board .. .. All the kids were interested.. it made it more so with all the pics... I stayed away from the library in town for about a week.. so that librarian had time to cool off...
