For all that we have been hearing for years, particularly from the right, that they need guns to protect themselves from the government, some of them seem more than willing to use the military on citizens when it suits their needs.

SPC Kevin Ford it should be. The problem with that is that so many of the mayors, and governors have ordered the police departments to pull back and give the rioters room to breath. That is what they did in Baltimore after Freddy Grey and the repercussions are still being felt. Businesses burned and lost, and murders skyrocketed afterwards because police stopped being able to enforce the laws. Better to have a military presence (military or national guard) to work with police to restore peace than to militarize the police departments (which has been happening).

TSgt Jack Oberholtzer - They already have the national guard. The protests are winding down and becoming less violent. There is no good reason to bring in federal troops and a lot of very good reasons not to.
