Why must diplomats deny everything? Why can't the Chinese simply say "You guys are wusses. You want to fly your spy planes close to our nation, we'll fly our jets close to your spy planes." Instead, "Oh no! We did nothing like that..." Obviously, I could never be a diplomat. Could you?
