When the withdraw became a route..... and what happens with this defeat to AQ? Will it now be embolden to directly attack the US again? Some hold the view that a single campaign lost does not produce a disastrous order of effects... and those are the same ones who have not been prepping for when the day came.

If the Afghan government does not get a handle on the security situation and finds a way to regain control of the north, its tenure may well be measured in weeks or months.

Weeks.... maybe. It might hold the cities for a while though.... but we seen this all before

If you want to address why they've attacked us, you need to address our relationship with Israel.

Was that in reference to Hezbullah - which is the lead on the Anti-Israel terror organizations - instead of Al Queda in stating where to address relationships to the Why of 9-11. It was Saudi Arabia and our relations there - and our stationing forces there that was the fixation in AQ and the attacks elsewhere that lead up to their attack in the USA.
To trace it all together - one can do with Jihadi ideology - and include Israel into it by the pieces laid down by the Grand Mufti in the 1940s. That was a critical cornerstone of the ideology that was built on. Best read on the whole of it is "The Looming Tower" ---
