AFMC Tests New Software To Speed F-16 Upgrades

It was a merger of AFLC, Air Force Logistics Command and also AFSC, Air Force Systems Command into one command , AFMC, Air Force Material Command. I had served in both AFSC and later on after the merger AFMC.

I assisted with a hardware and software replacement at the AFLC’s back in the 80’s. They got rid of the old DEC’s and replaced them with IBM and AMDAHLS. Met a lot of great IT people. SMSgt Lawrence McCarter

My time with those Commands AFSC and AFMC, before and after the merger of the Commands was at Hanscom AFB, MA as base I spent a lot of time at during My USAF career. Our Squadron fell under the Electronic Systems Division, (Now Electronic Systems Center) on that Base. Everything on that Base was pretty high tech.
