After fatal crash, NJ Marine motorcyclists help New England counterparts push forward

Rumbling engines and country music brought a different type of horsepower to the Meadowlands Sports Complex on Sunday.

A New Jersey motorcycle club for Marine Corps veterans rallied local organizations together for a fundraiser supporting seven New England motorcyclists — former Marines and their spouses — who died in a crash last month.

“We’re just Marines helping Marines,” said New Jersey Leathernecks Motorcycle Club President Steve Schubert. “We lost five buddies and two of their wives, and three other people got seriously injured. We’re just trying to help them out.”
