Air Force Academy haircut email stirs controversy over Michael Jordan reference

Aside from my pet peeve of mass emails.. This Msgt did absolutely nothing wrong. This is politics at its finest. Further more that o6 who undercut his snco in front of all the cadets is a poor leader. You do not admonish a troop like that. If he really thought what the snco was wrong, then you send an email saying something along the lines of ... "I understand your complaints frustrains etc.. The situation is being handled..." Then you counsel the SNCO in private and have him send an apology email... You do not publically admonish him in front of his subordinates.

call me a little bit old school, but if there is haircut issue at an academy, that should be a simple fix, minus emails. I would call all of Cadet SR leadership in and discuss, I would make sure there is no misunderstanding that is it is not corrected with in X number of hours all leave, all passes are revoked. And God forbid you are an idiot with a bad haircut, a haircut not fitting a National Academy Cadet, because your life would change a bit. Sleep would be a commodity etc... If some smart ass want to be LT did not like it. Well that would be simple, tell them they have 1 hour to pack their stuff and get out of their room. Their transcript/OER would be stamped failure to follow instructions, not Air Force Officer material, never to return.

I might soften the last part a bit if they quickly jumped on the ban wagon. but they have got to understand a cadet does not have any room for that type of input of flawed judgement.

Now understand the aforementioned is just my opinion, but I am correct, without a doubt
