Ya know, the way things are going just do away with everyone in the AF except for the pilots and have civilian contractors do everything else, cause that's the way it's looking. And since the Space force is part of the AF, do the same for them. There are a few MOS's like PJ's, combat controllers that should be kept, but with the way they in the puzzle palace are going there will be no military in a few years, look how the Marines have been gutted.

I guess the bigger news for me here is that they go to the field at all. My experience with this service is hotels and continental breakfasts, not sweat and dirty cammies. I would think that's almost inhumane treatment to Air Force personnel. LOL

In January 1980 they were unable to take off in a C-130 to take us from Ft. Drum back to Ft. Knox. We wound up sleeping on the floor of the post theater while the air crew was given accommodations in a Watertown motel. We finally got out the next afternoon, but the AC developed a problem and landed at Griffiss AFB, NY. Again the crew was sent to a motel while we were given the floor of a maintenance hangar to sleep. Oh, well . . .

MAJ Dale E. Wilson, Ph.D. Yeah, the varying treatment of the services is as different as night and day.

Air forces personnel when assigned to a joint billet with any other branch of services gets a substandard housing allowance. Or at least they did when I was on active duty and interacted with them in the field.
