This incident was my unit and in fact those trucks are mine (kind of funny).
The problem with this video is not the video itself, just the fact that it was shared and highlighted a "normal" mistake.
All heavy drops are recorded for informational purposes (and used for reporting problems such as this).
But sharing this video was against traditional rules.
I assure you, as the Motor Sergeant, filing the paperwork for these vehicles is far less fun than the video implies.
As far as your question goes, airborne units take airborne operations quite seriously. It goes without saying that while jumping is relatively easy, it is also relatively easy to be complacent (both for JMs and jumpers) and the propensity for accidents increases (as more jumps are completed).
Rarely do you have jump refusals (but it does happen) and they are handled swiftly.
Serious accidents are also rare but the saying is true, accidents usually only occur when the fundamentals are not followed.
This includes myself. My worse jump I managed to do everything wrong. Luckily no serious injury but these things are "self correcting". Pain has a way of reminding you to follow procedures (ha ha).

SSG Warren Swan
Are there any repercussions for folks who do post them? And were you able to use 550 cord, duct tape, and big league chew to repair it?

SSG Warren Swan - I have no clue if anyone received punishment for posting but I assure you, if they did figure out who it was, I wouldn't want to be him (or them). I'm nearly certain it wasn't that hard considering we are mandated to record these drops but the fact that it went viral and ended up on national news couldn't of been good.
Incidentally, posting this violates DOD Social Media Policy rules...lol
And those vehicles were done...ha ha ha
Beyond repair and the paperwork is still being processed for replacement. No negligence, just a malfunction but you know how paperwork goes...lol

Glad people don't come down in the vehicles. Someone bungled when they set up those chutes.
