SFC Retention Operations Nco
The VA is changing their ratings evaluation to rate how actually disable people are. It's not a crazy concept that your disability should reflect how physically hindered you are from working. Everyone who has a rating already will keep their ratings. Plus, they're actually proposing to upgrade the mental health rating.

Yes, less people in the future will be able to suckle off the teet of uncle Sam, but are you really 50% incapable of working if you have sleep apnea? Does tinnitus really cause a 10% reduction in pay or employability for most people? I would say not for most people.

VA ratings have gotten a bit out of control, there are so many over 20 years people who are still working at 100% capacity but receiving 100% disability. I don't fault them, if I was offered that, I would take it too. But, this is tax payers money and at some point someone has to reel in future spending.

Plus, aren't you the guy who has been trying to convince everyone here for the last several years that your discharge should be upgraded and everyone agreed you're wrong? I think you need a new lawyer and a better hobby.

I read the article and read other articles speaking to the changes and I don't see anything in regards to reducing ratings. Current ratings are grandfathered in. In regards to PTSD it speaks about making it easier to increasing ratings and protecting PTSD ratings to be no lower than 10%. The Sleep Apnea and hearing loss ratings could be argued but everyone knows how badly abused both of those ratings have been in the past. Vets getting 50%plus for sleep apnea that is easily treated with a CPAP is sus. I see this as a win because it has been an uphill battle trying to get my PTSD rating increased and now it looks like it will happen.

SSgt Christophe Murphy - "But I do see your perspective as this change will most likely not be enough to overcome all the hurdles you have for your current pursuits." What sort of lunacy are you jabbering about? I will win my lawsuit hands down because the Air Force made up a Personality Disorder diagnosis on me as the sole purpose and reasoning of my discharge and I disproved the Air Forces discharge already at the DRB -- the odds of me not getting 5 years active duty backpay when there's no aggravations on my record is relatively slim. You believe what you want though. :)

A1C Jordan Brenner dude, with all the name calling and insults it’s no wonder so many folks bag on you on here.

The new evaluation standards won’t fix the issues you have. And the new standards wouldn’t apply until you could be viewed as eligible which won’t likely happen until after your lawsuit concludes. Which was my point. I’ve been clear that I’m speaking specifically about the new standards and the article. Anything you have cooking in the court with lawsuits would be outside of that. I wish you luck but curbing that chip on your shoulder would do you wonders. I haven’t made any comments or speculations towards your lawsuit but you keep coming back like I am arguing the details of your case. The only thing I said was that your VA claim and the new standards wouldn’t likely happen until the case is settled. Which is probably true.

SSgt Christophe Murphy - " The only thing I said was that your VA claim and the new standards wouldn’t likely happen until the case is settled. Which is probably true." Again, you spread complete lunacy. I never stated that I have a pending VA claim for anything, this is your own stupidity speaking for itself yet again. I said I wouldn't qualify for PTSD through the VA under its current guidelines -- period. Yet here you're making things out to be that are simply not. I have a PTSD diagnosis through non-VA providers that will only aid to help me in my lawsuit.

"dude, with all the name calling and insults it’s no wonder so many folks bag on you on here." My question had nothing to do with my lawsuit, point out specifically where I stated I have a pending claim and how I'm butt hurt that I won't get the PTSD diagnosis? Are you a part of looney tunes?
