This type of stolen valor crime needs to be prosecuted and the perp needs the maximum sentence. This is fraud to the highest degree.

Impersonating a military professional weather as active duty or a veteran should be criminally charged the same as impersonating a police officer, a firefighter or paramedic...as a felony.
