Thank you my friend LTC Stephen Conway for sharing the news that American celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain was found unresponsive in his hotel room in France Friday morning and pronounced dead after committing suicide.
Man knows not his time.

Substance abuse is real.

All, if it's OK with you, I'd like to request the banishing of the word "committed" from the way people "die by suicide"; "complete suicide" (as opposed to "attempt"); "died by their choice"; "by their own hand"; "died via self-harm" or "self-inflicted"... And many others. "Committed" is a leftover from when suicide was a crime (and they still throw people in jail in some places, causing additional trauma!). Suicide, we now know, is resultant from illness and/or hardship and loss among other factors. Maybe I should post this as a whole new discussion?
