We had a 59 Chevy Biscayne station wagon when I was growing up. Had the rear facing seat, and an electric window in the tail gate that pinched fingers! And, is seen in picture, had “airplane wings” on the rear end. Rumor was that the back end would lift off the ground above 100 mph.

All steel back then. I once found a fellow in NC that had several of the early models, still original and running. A friend of his was doing front end and fender work on 57 chev 1/2 ton stepside for me, love those old vehicles. Mom backed over me in a mid 50s nash rambler wagon, older brothers didn't latch door, I fell in ditch, she panicked and rolled in ditch. I survived due to being below low point of tires in ditch. Dad said I had tire tracks on toddler shirt (1958) which Mom denied. We had a used black buick estate wagon that was our fishing car, and it was a tank.

Think it was around 64, red leather and all the seats, towed boat good, probably had a 455 GM plant.

Oldest brother chopped dual strapped 4 by 4 traffic signs clean at the bumper/ground intersection, small dent to chrome, around 1970.

That's pretty radical. It looks good but I like the 59 the way they are.

CWO3 (Join to see) - The rusty, patina look seems to be the way to go.

CWO3 (Join to see) - That's true. 8-10mpg most likely.
