"After non-endorsement, Teamsters’ Sean O’Brien says Democrats have ‘taken the working men and women for granted’"
This is an article published today in the Boston Globe. Most of it is about infighting in the Teamsters over the Presidential non-endorsement. there's one paragraph that got my attention "In contrast, Corbett called the Biden-Harris administration the most pro-union administration since Franklin Roosevelt’s, citing the critical support in 2021 for the Butch Lewis Act, which provided financial support for many failing union pension plans. Corbett saw endorsing Harris as a “no-brainer,” and the Local 122 executive board voted unanimously on Sept. 5 to endorse the Harris-Walz ticket.", "failing union pension plans", we're talking millions of dollars here.
What happened to the money, has there been any kind of investigation, why did the government throw money at them? There's a link inside the paragraph to another article explaining the "Butch Lewis Act", it attempts to answer some of those questions. Unsatisfactorily in my opinion.
