Thank you, my friend CW5 Jack Cardwell for posting the video USAF armorer Sgt Sleute assigned to Beale AFB going over the weapons procedures for the M4 Carbine.

One of the most distasteful tasks I had to perform as a LT was inspecting an Armor Battalion's arms room. It took me 8 hours even with the help of the armorer and a helper.

I don't remember all the details of the Air Force having a weapon stolen, but it feels there were protocols broken.

Armorer story time...So one night long ago at Incirlik AB Turkey an A1C was released from duty early over a midnight shift on my Flight. Something must have been going on at the time as there was no NCO available to clear the person out at the clearing barrel. At the time only an NCO could clear someone and their weapon. The Armorer on duty said not to worry and instructed the A1C to hand their uncleared M9 (we carried them with one in the chamber and the safety off) through the window. The Armorer placed the M9 into the clearing barrel inside the armory dropped the magazine and pulled the trigger...BANG! The A1C shouted what happened? The Armorer responded as he closed the window "I just lost my job."
