Hope this filters down to the rest of the like-minded generals and senior-type officers who feel it is within their purview to demean women. This kind of blatant disrespect is just what the entire armed forces is fighting to overcome in this day and age. Instead of being out front in setting an example of zero tolerance, this general was in the front ranks of the offenders. Hope he enjoys his 2-star retirement package.

Agreed, Sir. I would be sick to my stomach if even my UNIT Commander called someone "sweetheart" in front of me. Can you imagine if someone called him "sweetheart"? Or questioned his age and political affiliation? This seems to be a case of a General acting too big for his britches. This is someone who is supposed to hold the leadership over hundreds of thousands of Soldiers, my 2LT platoon leader wouldn't say something like this. Why are people defending him?

Talk about sexism. Hold his star for BS. If her skin is that thin then she needs to separate from the arena in which she finds herself. That act should not stop his promotion.
