A lot of missed opportunities. Russian timidness would add months to the war from their front's perspective. Lack of German planning squandered a lot of kill moments. At the end of the battle, the greatest successes would be the roving infantry anti-tank squads. Panzer Grenadiers would gain mythical status as would Red Tank Riders. Majority of the infantry dead were the AT squads.

Both sides were mired in bureaucracy and unable to get simple orders relayed to the grunts. The resulting cluster fu*k made itself known early on. Both sides should have pulled the plug after the second day. To the SS' credit, they learned that they needed to start perfecting their retreats. The Russians learned that the SS could be defeated but still lacked the initiative to do it at a regimental/battalion level.

MI-6 would go on to crack everybodies' codes which would play an ace card against the Warsaw Pact in the Cold War. The intel bounty was better for the allies than the actual death count.
