These are matters of mitigation and they don't make him any less guilty. Just material to say punish me less.

True on the desertion charge, the assisting the enemy charge is still questionable because there is zero studies done by the DoD or US Army showing a link between soldier deaths during the search for Bergdahl. Mostly because it was rare for a primary mission to be to find Bergdahl for units, always the 1A secondary mission though. This charge is the one that is highly politicized.

To me it is semantics as to whether it was or was not the primary mission, but I understand what you are saying.

I’m sure he was f***ed in the head. I’m also sure that a lot of our troops are f***ed in the head. In war, all men and women see things that are not normal. Things you don’t, can’t and never will unsee. Things that are by far worse than any nightmare you ever had as a child. I think Bergdahl made a conscious decision. He knew what he was doing. Please explain to me why a nobody, know nothing like Bergdahl be allowed to survive for 5 years as a prisoner when everyone else is executed? We all saw the films when he was released. All the hugs, kisses, tears and swapping spit with the enemy looked more like he was somebody’s little prison bitch and he was loving it. I will go to my grave thinking that Bergdahl should have been executed upon return to America. He was, is and will always be a traitor.
