Trumps only role in this was to remain silent and he could not manage that. was STFU too complicated an instruction? What this does to the appeals process i will be pissing people of for years to come and it was all totally unnecessary.

As commander-in-chief President Trump has every right to speak on military issues just like anybody else involved with the military. The only thing that Bergdahl should receive is a bullet to the head. Sure as hell should not receive a POW medal. He deserted his post and was captured. POWs serve honorably, something that Bergdahl wouldn’t know about if someone kicked him in the head.

The President has the same right to influence a court or appeal as any other commander does, that is none at all. that is a basic principle of military law

Have you never heard the term "undue command influence" not to mention tah that the POTUS is part of the appeal process .

On Bergdahl I agree, but you should have some grasp on how military justice works before you make yourself look silly
