I think it is a slippery slope when you pick a particular religion out and ban it. History is littered with religion based wars.....where one religion tries to exterminate all others. If you succeed in banning Islam, what then stops them from deciding they don't want Hindus around either? Or Jews? Or Baptists? Or Catholics? Our founders came here primarily to have the freedom to practice the religion of their choice.....and now we, their descendants, are ok with banning a religion? It gives me pause.

A religion whose adherents, who as all of us cannot choose our parents, are trapped and coerced by every means up to death by the internal radicalism.
If we want to protect ourselves then we must begin by protecting non violent Muslims.
Establish for them a sanctuary just as the United States was established in the begining by those fleeing religious oppression. Any other approach is completely unworkable.

You have a valid point. However, there is presently in the world no other religion who’s avowed purpose is to convert the entire world by force if necessary. Make jokes about Jehovahs Witness or LDS missionarys because of their zeal, but when was the last time you heard of one of them killing or taxing you if you don’t convert.
I have some sympathy for non violent Muslims but not at the expense of the demise of civilization. What Angola is apparently doing is no different that the countries that do not consider L Ron Hubbard’s SF religion legit.
Also I love how the Muslim apologist says that Muslims are not a threat to the majority populace anywhere. However, they are infiltrating the West St an every increasing pace and once they obtain majority, it hasn’t gone well for other religions anywhere it’s happened.

MSgt......we absolutely have to be aware of and protect ourselves when a mosque starts going "radical"........I just don't think the outright banning of any religion is the appropriate level of response.

Well, I can see the why. I can see that our approach in the United States, Europe, and Canada has had extremely poor results.
They are quite correct that Islam is indeed a sect however, its members are chosen by birth for the most part. There's the quandary which western nations have been unable to wrap their heads around.
Our laws and customs prohibit religious persecution yet we ourselves are persecuted and murdered by fanatical members of the SECT of Islam.
Trumps approach of criticizing RADICAL Islam is probably the most sensible way to go about it.
He is no madman bent on deportation and persecution. The peaceful members of Muslim communities themselves are terrorized, murdered, or simply silenced by the fanatics within their ranks.
