Not to mention the:
_environmental impact of our current battery technology
_the social costs of mining battery materials in 3rd world countries
_60.5% of electrical energy is produced by fossil fuels.
_Several parts of the country are served by electric grids that are inadequate to the task resulting in rolling brown outs or requirements to reduce electrical use during peak periods. All that is before adequately providing for a nation almost entirely dependent on personal electric vehicles.
