So now our lawmakers are concerned about us taxpayers? Fancy that. Apparently they're willing to trade big campaign contributions from team owners and the players union to play to voters who are tired of being disrespected by pampered athletes.

Here in Houston, the voters actually voted against using taxpayer money to build the NRG stadium. Didn't matter, our Mayor at the time, over-rode the will of the voters and increased taxes and took money out of the rainy day fund (consequently why there was no money in it when Hurricane Harvey hit) to fund the building of the stadium.

Red herring alert: This piece of legislation does NOT target the NFL. It's an equal opportunity bill to end Federal Tax breaks for construction of ALL professional sports stadiums/venues; football, baseball, soccer, basketball...).
The Bill was submitted in the Senate in June. It was submitted in the House in March.

All the controversy in the NFL it what prompted the headline I would think, it does indeed include all Professional sports complexes. In my Humble opinion Billionaire Owners and Millionaire Players don't need to me subsidized when Hurricane ravaged areas of the country are trying to recover, that includes Porto Rico and even parts of New Orleans are still as they were when Katrina did her thing.

Let them play in a cow pasture so they can step in a lot of what they are passing out.
Never understood why taxpayer funds were used when some teams don't show respect to local communities and threaten to move if they don't get what they want.
