For over six decades, the town of Stockton, Missouri, has held an unusual celebration every fall: The Black Walnut Festival.
With a parade, a “Nut Run 5K,” and the crowning of a Black Walnut Queen, Stockton pays tribute to a nut that, in many ways, defines this town.
“The black walnut capital of the world, as we say. More black walnut trees here than any place else in the world,” says Brian Hammons.

I stopped at a brewery in MO a few years back and they had a "black walnut beer." It was an incredibly delicious brew and very refreshing. I only bought two 6-packs and didn't ingest any until I got home to PA. Had I relized how delicious it was, I'd have bought a few cases though I'm not the typical beer drinker, I just like to try craft beers now and again. Probably a good thing it's not local to me, and PA or MO won't allow shipping it here. Otherwise, I'd probably pack on too much weight! LOL

When you boil the black walnut husks, strain it and put it on a toe, it is good for getting rid of toenail fungus.
