What a hard hitting scientific discovery...not really. Who here thought boiling them alive was painless?

PO3 Edward Riddle - No, You put them in the boiling water head first and it's instant. One of the tricks for cooking lobster people from New England are familiar with.

I'm originally from New England and my uncle had a lobster license. We were always told to start with cold water, put the lobsters in and as the water heats the lobsters go to sleep and they don't tense up. Putting lobsters in boiling water causes them to tense up and makes the meat tougher.
