First, IGNORE all the unconfirmed sources about bounties on US military personnel. Second, take a look at this headline and the article from the same historical perspective I did. Forty-plus years ago, the US was aiding the Mujaheddin against the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan. With some skepticism, in general the Mujaheddin became the Taliban that controlled Afghanistan. Today, we're talking about Russia aiding the Taliban against what they would argue US occupation with a puppet government in Afghanistan. i know, the historical irony. Who said the Cold War was over? Not for Putin it isn't. History is important and in this case we can assume some limited historical applications are being made by one side.

That is what I have been telling folks...this isn't new news. Putin has been doing this for many many years and no President from either side of the aisle has attacked it. Taliban are going to kill Americans anyway because we are their sworn infidel enemy. This has nothing to do with bounty.

True. Any one in media or politics that makes this a Trump or current issue is wrong. However, what is at issue or concern is how the Administration, Intelligence community, and Defense department handled the information? It definitely should raise concern about the lack of enforcement of Congressional approved sanctions on Russia and the continued rhetoric by US officials to re-establish the G8 with inclusion of Russia. We should be playing hardball with Russia with their harassment of our aircraft and naval vessels as well.

MAJ James Woods exactly.....it is neither new, nor surprising, that Russia would be working against our interests...but that being the case, we should not be pretending like Putin is our friend. We should be taking a hard line with him. The fact that we are not, raises many questions in my mind.

SFC Bernard Walko - Yes and the bigger picture should include Trump working with the Chinese government to develop Indonesia in the same year he started the tariffs. If you want to dig deeper, Indonesia is conducting genocide against native people.

SFC Bernard Walko - We can tell just how well he's improved our position in the world as we catch nation leaders routinely mocking him. If it was just criticism, then okay, but when they're laughing at you in a public setting with cameras around, that's embarrassing. Oh he's not in Russia's pockets. He's just financially indebted to Russian oligarchs and likely some Middle Eastern royal families.
