SN Greg Wright - If we want to compare and contrast what I would do vs. what the President is doing, we have a longer discussion coming, but for starters:

1. The government sent me to Korea... where does my family live? With me in Korea. Where does the President's family live? If my family chose to live somewhere else, would the government pay for them to live there?
2. The President flies to Florida routinely to take a break - on the taxpayer dime. I stay home or am out in the field typically. When I *DO* travel, it's on MY dime, not the government's.
3. My adult children are living on their own, working their jobs, and paying their own bills - costing the government nothing. Can the President's children say the same?

Just because the last president thought laws were optional, I sincerely hope this one doesn't feel that way. This isn't something that is by request, but the law. And it exists for more reasons than merely something to be used only while on government business or families wouldn't be protected by the Secret Service. Surely you know that.

With all the loonies out there. And left wing nuts threatening him and to pimp the FLOTUS. I think it is justified.

Always assume the worst. Right? He's going to Florida to conduct "family business"? What a crock.

SFC William Farrell - Why not? You're assuming he's going there on vacation. I could just as easily assume that he's going there to conduct the business of the nation in an environment where he's conducted a helluva lot of business over the years. Some Presidents used Camp David for exactly the same purpose. It puts other people at ease and helps create an environment conducive to getting things done, hammering out agreements, establishing relationships. It's neutral ground. The White House is the President's "palace", his home turf, and it makes visitors feel at a disadvantage. See? That's how it works. But you know just as well as I what "assume" means, don't we? The trouble is that you are jumping to the worst possible interpretation of every thing he does and says. I prefer to wait and see. That's what I did with President Obama. Sadly, what I saw in his case was a vast waste of eight years. Unlike others, I wished he'd spend more time away from Washington, more time playing golf, where he could do less damage.

CPT Jack Durish - Jack, I'd rather see him conduct his business at Camp David, an area that is already secure. Going to Florida is costing is costing us money, its costing to City of Palm Beach money that was not an issue for them before he became President. I fully agree with your last three sentences!

Capt Seid Waddell - On the Obamas' trips to Martha's Vineyard, their family dog flew separately in a USMC V-22. I wonder how much extra that costed....

SFC William Farrell, CPT Jack Durish, SSG(P) (Join to see), the Obamas' vacation trips broke records - it takes a lot of projecting to accuse Trump of this so early in the game...
