Absolutely. They are still citizens and should be able to have a voice in our government. Their debt has been paid.

While I am a fairly strong conservative on most issues, this is one where the Republican party is wrong. Want to stop recidivism? Incentivize reintegrating in society. One of the ways to do that is to restore voting rights. If we're going to banish somebody from society for life, they should either be locked up for life, or executed. And we should be doing a lot more executions. But for those whose crimes don't rate execution, or life imprisonment, (and that's the vast majority of felons) they should have their rights restored when their time is up.
