Why? You're not Navy. We're big on traditional ship names. We've had five Enterprises. Several more doubles and triples. JFK was a Navy hero and president. Enough reasons for a second one.

SGT Neil Chandler - My apologies. I had friends on her, too. The new SUPER super carriers are all presidents except the 68. I think our 33rd Prez is highly deserving of another one in his name. I'm a MIDWAY squid. I'd love to see another one of her, too.

I remember Midway coming into PSNS Bremerton, WA SCPO Donnie Bowerman when she was transferred to the White Fleet/Ghost Fleet/Retired. She sat sat there for a long time.

I understand because when you reuse a name people assume that the ship will be just as great as the previous ship bearing that name. Ships are only as good as the crew serving her, and while the name can bring expectations its always the crew manning her that brings honor and dignity to the name.
